SAO auditors had an opportunity to discuss and exchange experience on identified systemic weaknesses and detected risks of possible cases of corruption in public procurement procedures in public enterprises and companies

Based on the long-term successful cooperation, the State Audit Office invited the National Audit Office of Kosovo for a one-day bilateral meeting, Auditor General Maksim Acevski and Deputy Auditor General Orhan Ademi welcomed Kosovo SAI delegation headed by Auditor General Besnik Osmani

The problem of air pollution in RNM requires long-term systemic and integrated approach of all stakeholders (central/local level institutions, private sector and citizens)

The auditors found that measures and activities taken by competent institutions for dealing with labor market risks are not effective enough and there is a need of coordinated action and strengthening activities

Plastic waste recycling rate in RNM is less than 1% and initiatives and activities taken to improve the situation are minimal

Incomplete action upon audit recommendations of the certified state auditor resulted in payment of less funds in the Budget of RNM for at least 204.713.000 denars or 3.3 million euros as unpaid water rights fees that were collected from end users (legal entities and individuals) by the public enterprises providing water services

Maksim Acevski MSc, longtime Certified State Auditor and Assistant Auditor General, who has worked at the State Audit Office for 18 years, has been elected as the new Auditor General. Mr. Maksim Acevski was elected with 81 votes in his favor at the Parliament’s Plenary Session and he received a standing ovation.
